It was the first visit to Bell Field for the Dundas Dukes in the modern era of Townball. The Lakers made it a memorable for the home town fans collecting 11 hits and 10 runs in a victory at Bell Field in Section One play on Wednesday night.

Dundas got on the board in the first as a Tate Journall lead off walk eventual scored on a fielder's choice.

The Dukes added on in the second. Mike Ludwig surprised the entire ballpark by bunting, and reaching on a throwing error. Ludwig eventually scored on a fielding error with two outs.

In the Lakers half of the second, I saw something I've never seen in all my years of watching baseball. Due to two Lakers reaching on wild pitches on strike three, Dukes starter Landon Boisen struck out five batters in the inning. This is a feat that has never occurred in the history of Major League Baseball.

In the fourth the Dukes added on to the lead as Journall singled with two outs, stole second and scored on a Carson Jones single down the third base line.

The Lakers through the second trip of the order seemed to have figured out Boisen. After seven of nine Laker batters struck out, three Lakers had hits and another reached via walk. Jack Jandro doubled to lead off the fourth and scored on an Atley Qualey single.

The Lakers had two out magic in the fifth inning. Drew Conrad homered to center to cut the lead to one. Aiden Tobin singled, Austin Rendler reached on a passed ball on a strike three. Jandro singled to drive in Tobin to tie the game. Mason Conrad was up next and reached on a fielding error to give the Lakers the lead. Boisen was removed from the game in favor of Nolan Thompson. Qualey greeted him with an RBI single.

In the last of the sixth the Lakers added to the lead with a pair of batters reaching on fielding errors sandwiched with a sacrifice bunt to score a run. Then wiith two outs and a runner on base, Austin Rendler connected for a two run home run to give the Lakers an 8-3 lead.

Dundas inched closer in the seventh on the strength of RBI singles by Ryan Cahoon and Braden Lowitski, cutting the lead to 8-5.

The bottom half of the frame saw the Lakers get one of those runs back. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases and Joe Grote sacrifice fly plated the Lakers ninth run of the evening.

The Lakers added insurance in the eighth inning as the first three batters reached. Aiden Tobin scored on a wild pitch.

The Dukes made it interesting in the ninth. All four batters to face reliever Drew Conrad reached with Braden Lowitski driving in a run to make it 10-6 and putting the tie runner at the plate. The Lakers opted for Grote out of the bullpen. Grote retired the first two batters but a fielding error allowed another runner to score to cut the lead to 10-8. After a walk loaded the bases, Grote struck out Drew Sathrum looking to end the game.

Jamie's Deliverymen of the Game

1. Atley Qualey- In a night that had two Lakers go deep, it was Qualey that stood out to me. Qualey went 3-4, scored once and drove in a pair of runs, including the first run of the game in the fourth inning

2. Carter Quinlan- Laker starter Quinlan picked up the win giving the Lakers seven innings, allowing five runs, four earned in seven innings of work.

3T. Drew Conrad and Austin Rendler. Both had home runs. Conrad a solo shot part of a 2-4 night. Rendler's a two run shot in the sixth.
